Nomos

Τό τ’ ἔπειτα καὶ τὸ μέλλον
καὶ τὸ πρὶν ἐπαρκέσει
νόμος ὅδ’· οὐδέν’ ἕρπει
θνατῶν βίοτος πάμπολυς ἐκτὸς ἄτας.
(Sophocles, Ant. 611-614)

For present, future and past this law shall suffice: to none among mortals shall great wealth come without disaster. (tr. Hugh Lloyd-Jones)
